Exit Art brings world culture into perspective—every day. Its voice echoed throughout the New York art scene this year with critically acclaimed exhibitions, performances and music.

Our shows envisioned global culture now, confronting issues as relevant as life and death in Corpus Extremus, the future of urban environments in Vertical Gardens, pan-African identity in Negritudé. In its own right, each show was a visual landmark. Each also blended performance, spoken word, film and music, exemplifying the distinctive role Exit Art plays in the art world today.

That’s us in a nutshell, and that is why Exit Art needs your continued support. It takes a unique institution willing to tackle tough issues year in and year out to bring perspective to the world in which we live. And, it takes a unique individual, like you, willing to support the artists who take the greatest risk by being on the frontline of social and cultural change.

Artists do this because they must; Exit Art does this because it believes that artists engage us with the world. We hope that you will do it—support the artists and Exit Art—because you recognize that art and artists give meaning to individuals and society at large.

Exit Art provides you with a home where you are able to directly engage with artists who express the major issues of our time through exhibitions, interactive events, film, performance actions, and even great parties in which to meet like-minded individuals. Being a part of Exit Art is equivalent to being an active participant in contemporary culture–in all its raw, unvarnished “nowness.”

A gift to the Annual Fund this year will make a great difference to an artist who is taking risks daily to communicate important issues that affect our daily lives. It will also be a gift back to you—and our community at large.
