Painting Club Feedback

Exit Art announces an exhibition of selected work from the Painting Club, an ongoing program that unconventionally presents painting in a theatrical setting.

The Painting Club  is an ongoing series of gatherings held throughout the year for participants to talk, learn and share the experience of painting. It is an unconventional, theatrical presentation of painting. Taking place in Exit Art’s Trickster Theater space, four artists present their paintings one at a time in the center of a stage lit by theatrical and photographic lights. Before each painting is presented to the audience, the title of the work is announced. The audience than has three minutes for silent observation. A reception follows. The first gathering was held in conjunction with the exhibition Geometric Days on April 23, 2011.

Conceived by Papo Colo.
